A weekly 2 hour session for 8 weeks. New and returning students will be taught the basics of handbuilding with clay through 2 – 3 guided tasks (new tasks for returning students). These tasks are designed to allow creative freedom, while gaining skills and learning new processes, individual variations are intrinsic to hand building! Fun and learning always! These tasks teach the basics needed for each student to then create a piece, or series of pieces of their own choosing, throughout the rest of the course. Guidance and assistance is at hand during every stage of your childs creative journey. Only 8 young people are in this class, which means that your child always has help at hand. What is included? 5kg clay, underglaze colours, glazes and firings are included. Participants are able to have their pieces bisque fired, glazed and fired again. Additional clay may be purchased if needed, depending on individual use. About the teacher: Kelly is an experienced, qualified educator, she is encouraging and supportive and loves to see young people develop confidence in their ability to create their own vision through art.
